The Battle of Segesvár (13 August 1849) was the last battle of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848–49, and is the site where Sándor Petőfi, a Hungarian poet and revolutionary, is most likely to have died. The battle was fought between the Hungarian revolutionary army and the Imperial Austrian army, and resulted in a Hungarian defeat.
