Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was the 14th Jathedar of the Damdami Taksal, a Sikh seminary in Amritsar, Punjab. He was a prominent figure in the Sikh separatist movement in Punjab during the 1980s, and is considered by some to be a martyr. He was killed in the Operation Blue Star in 1984.
