Sarojini Naidu was an Indian independence activist, poet, and politician who was one of the leading figures in the Indian independence movement. She was a member of the Indian National Congress and was elected as its President in 1925. She was also a member of the Constituent Assembly of India and was the first woman Governor of Uttar Pradesh.
