After his career in the US, Suzuki moved to Japan in 1968 and achieved his greatest success there. He became a key figure in the development of jazz in Japan, and his work with Japanese musicians helped to establish a distinct Japanese jazz style. Suzuki also worked with many Western musicians, including Chick Corea, George Russell, and John McLaughlin. He was a prolific composer and recorded over 100 albums.
