The Malmedy massacre, also known as the Baugnez massacre, was a war crime committed by members of the Waffen-SS during the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. It took place on December 17, 1944, near the Belgian village of Malmedy. During the massacre, 84 American prisoners of war were summarily executed by members of Kampfgruppe Peiper.
