Septimius Severus died at the age of 66. He was a Roman emperor who ruled from 193 to 211. He was born in Leptis Magna, Libya, and was the first African to become Roman emperor. He was a successful general and expanded the Roman Empire into Mesopotamia. He died of a stroke in Edessa, Syria.
