Batista managed Argentinos Juniors after Bella Vista. He took over in 1984 and remained in charge for three seasons, leading the team to the Primera División title in 1985. He also led the club to the Copa Libertadores final in 1985, where they were defeated by River Plate. Batista left Argentinos Juniors in 1987 and went on to manage a number of other teams in Argentina and abroad.
