MicroProse was a video game company founded in 1982 by Sid Meier and Bill Stealey. It was one of the first companies to produce and publish video games for personal computers. The company was responsible for some of the most popular video games of the 1980s and 1990s, including Civilization, Railroad Tycoon, and X-Com. MicroProse was acquired by Hasbro in 1996 and was subsequently closed down in 2001.
