Scotland Yard's Special Branch initially employed Sidney Reilly in his spy career. He was recruited into the organisation in 1892, at the age of 23, and was assigned to work as a spy against the Russian government. He later went on to work for the British Secret Service and the French Secret Service, and was involved in a number of espionage operations.
