Sigismund established rule over Ducal Prussia in 1525. He was a member of the House of Hohenzollern and was the last Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights. After the death of Albert of Brandenburg-Ansbach, Sigismund became the ruler of Ducal Prussia. He was also the first Duke of Prussia.
