Which kind of rule did Sigismund establish over Ducal Prussia?

  • Polish rule

  • Russian rule

  • German rule

  • Hungarian rule

Answer

After the death of Ducal Prussia's ruler, Albert, in 1568, his brother Sigismund was appointed the new duke. Sigismund, however, was also the king of Poland, and he decided to incorporate Prussia into Poland, rather than rule it himself. This decision led to a period of Polish rule over Prussia, which lasted until the end of the 18th century.
