Sigismund III Vasa passed away in 1632, at the age of 66, after a reign of 45 years. He was the longest-reigning monarch of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth and the last male member of the Jagiellon dynasty. His death marked the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in Polish-Lithuanian history.
