Sister Nivedita died in Darjeeling, a hill station in the Indian state of West Bengal. She was born in Ireland in 1867 and came to India in 1898. She was a close associate of Swami Vivekananda and worked to promote Indian culture and spirituality in the West. She died in Darjeeling in 1911.
