Stephen Keshi retired from his playing career in 1994. He had a long and successful career, playing for several clubs in Nigeria, Belgium, and France. He also represented Nigeria at the international level, appearing in the 1988 and 1994 World Cups. After retiring from playing, Keshi became a manager, leading Nigeria to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations title. He died in 2016 at the age of 54.
