Minor Planets (also called asteroids) are small bodies that orbit the Sun. They are smaller than dwarf planets and are not large enough to be called planets. Minor Planets are named after people, places, or things. They are discovered by astronomers who use telescopes to look for them. The Japanese astronomer Kin Endate has discovered many Minor Planets.
