Talal became King of Jordan in 1951. He was the son of Abdullah I, who was the first king of Jordan. Talal was born in 1909 in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. He was educated in Cairo and Paris. In 1934, he married Zein al-Sharaf Talal. They had four children together. Talal became king in 1951 after the assassination of his father.
