Tamim Iqbal stepped down as the ODI captain of Bangladesh due to a long-standing back injury. He had been struggling with the injury for some time and felt that he was not able to give his best as a captain. He felt that it was in the best interests of the team that he stepped down and allowed someone else to take over.
