Sylvia Plath committed suicide on February 11, 1963, at the age of 30. She was found dead in her kitchen, with her head in the oven and the gas turned on. She had left a note for her husband, Ted Hughes, in which she said that she was "unable to go on." Her death was ruled a suicide by asphyxiation.
