Teresa Cristina of the Two Sicilies was the queen of Brazil, and was the wife of Emperor Dom Pedro II. She was the eldest daughter of King Don Francesco I and Maria Isabel. Teresa Cristina was born in Naples, Italy, in 1822. She was educated in a convent and married Dom Pedro II in 1843. The couple had seven children, but only two of them survived to adulthood.
