The Globe and Mail has changed ownership three times since its establishment. It was acquired by FP Publications in 1965, then sold to the Thomson Corporation in 1980. In 2001, the paper merged with broadcast assets held by BCE , to form Bell Globemedia, before being reacquired by the Thomson family through The Woodbridge Company in 2010.
