Bill Shankly took over as the manager of Liverpool in 1959. He had previously managed Carlisle United and Huddersfield Town, and he would go on to manage Liverpool for 15 years. During his time at Liverpool, Shankly transformed the club from a struggling side to one of the most successful in England. He won three league titles, two FA Cups, and one UEFA Cup with Liverpool.
