Nero Claudius Drusus was the paternal grandfather of the Emperor Caligula. He was a Roman general and statesman who was known for his military campaigns in Germania and his construction of the Via Claudia Augusta. He was also the brother of the Emperor Tiberius and the father of the Emperor Claudius. Caligula was the son of Claudius and his third wife, Agrippina the Younger.
