Tibor Sekelj (1912-2001) was a Croatian explorer, linguist, writer, philosopher and polyglot. He was born in Budapest, Austro-Hungarian Empire, but spent most of his life in Yugoslavia, and eventually became a citizen of Serbia. Sekelj was a polyglot, and was fluent in more than 40 languages. He was also a skilled photographer, and took many photographs of his travels.
