The Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) is the central bank of Armenia, established on 1 November 1991. It is responsible for monetary policy and the regulation of the banking system in Armenia. Tigran Sargsyan served as Chairman of the CBA from 1998 to 2008. During his tenure, the CBA played an important role in stabilizing the Armenian economy after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
