Hockey player Tim Horton was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played 24 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). A five-time Stanley Cup champion, Horton was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1977. After his retirement from the NHL, Horton co-founded Tim Hortons, a Canadian multinational fast-food restaurant chain.
