Timothy M. Dolan served as rector of the Pontifical North American College in Rome from 1994 to 2001. During his tenure, he oversaw the construction of a new dormitory and chapel, as well as the expansion of the college's academic programs. He also strengthened the college's ties with the American Catholic community and increased its visibility in Rome. Dolan left the college in 2001 to become the archbishop of Milwaukee.
