Status quo ante bellum, or "the state before the war," was the outcome of the Treaty of Mangalore. Signed in 1784 between the British East India Company and Tipu Sultan of Mysore, it ended the Second Anglo-Mysore War. The treaty restored the pre-war territories and alliances, effectively returning both sides to their positions before the conflict.
