As a child, Swift began writing songs at the age of ten and signed with a local label, Big Machine Records, at the age of 14. She released her debut studio album, Taylor Swift, in 2006, which was commercially successful and spawned the hit singles "Teardrops on My Guitar" and "Our Song".
