Answer
Born in 1568, Tommaso Campanella was an Italian Dominican friar, philosopher, theologian, astrologer, and poet. He is best known for his utopian work "The City of the Sun," which describes a society based on reason and justice. Campanella's ideas were considered radical at the time and he was imprisoned for heresy by the Inquisition. However, his writings influenced many later thinkers, including Francis Bacon and Thomas More.
