Thomas Francis Dorsey Jr. was an American jazz trombonist, bandleader and composer. He is best known for his work with the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra, which he co-led with his older brother Jimmy Dorsey from 1925 to 1935. He also led his own Tommy Dorsey Orchestra from 1935 to 1957. Dorsey was one of the most popular and influential big band leaders of the swing era.
