In 1996, Tommy Lasorda retired as manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers after 20 seasons at the helm. Under Lasorda's leadership, the Dodgers won two World Series championships, four National League pennants, and eight division titles. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997.
