Tommy Thompson was the 14th United States Secretary of Health and Human Services under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005. During his time in office, Thompson was responsible for implementing the Bush administration's healthcare policies, including the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003. After leaving office, Thompson served as the president of the University of Wisconsin–Madison from 2005 to 2011.
