In addition to writing graphic novels and children's books, Marjane Satrapi has also worked in film. She has written and directed two films, Persepolis and Chicken with Plums, both of which are based on her graphic novels. Persepolis is a 2007 animated film that tells the story of Satrapi's childhood in Iran during the Iranian Revolution.
