Malmö FF was the Swedish team managed by Rösler. He joined the club in 2014 and led them to two consecutive league titles in 2014 and 2015. Under his guidance, Malmö FF also reached the group stage of the UEFA Champions League in 2015, becoming the first Swedish club to do so since 2000. Rösler left Malmö FF in 2016 after a successful two-year spell.
