Valentinian I’s sons were Gratian and Valentinian II. Valentinian I was a Roman emperor from 364 to 375 AD. He ruled with his brother Valens, but after Valens was killed in battle in 378 AD, Valentinian I ruled alone. He died in 375 AD and was succeeded by his sons, Gratian and Valentinian II.
