After retiring from gymnastics, Čáslavská pursued a career as a sports official. She served as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from 1981 to 1996, and as a member of the IOC Women and Sport Commission from 1981 to 1994. She was also a member of the Czechoslovak Olympic Committee from 1972 to 1992, and served as its president from 1989 to 1992.
