Vicente Aleixandre had a long-term relationship with Carlos Bousono. They met in 1926 and began a relationship that lasted until Aleixandre's death in 1984. They lived together in Madrid and traveled extensively together. Aleixandre was a prolific poet and Bousono was a writer and translator. They were both members of the Generation of'27, a group of Spanish poets who were active in the early 20th century.
