Victoria Eugenie, the Queen of Spain, died on 15 April 1969 at the age of 88. She had been in poor health for several years and had suffered a stroke in 1966. Victoria Eugenie was born in 1887 in Edinburgh, Scotland. She was the eldest daughter of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom and Queen Alexandra. In 1905, she married King Alfonso XIII of Spain.
