Answer
The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman is the highest civilian honour conferred by the Government of India on non-resident Indians (NRIs). Instituted in 2003, it is given to NRIs who have made significant contributions to their field or profession, and have brought honour to India through their achievements. The award is presented during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, held every two years to celebrate the contributions of NRIs to India.
