Violette Bushell was born Violette Szabo in 1921. She was a British agent who worked for the Special Operations Executive (SOE) during World War II. She was known for her bravery and determination, and was posthumously awarded the George Cross for her actions. Bushell was captured by the Gestapo in 1944 and was executed in Ravensbrück concentration camp in 1945.
