Answer
Street photographer Vivian Maier worked in Chicago for over four decades, capturing thousands of candid street photographs of people and city life. Despite her talent, recognition eluded her during her lifetime, and it was only after her death in 2009 that her work gained widespread acclaim, largely through the efforts of John Maloof, who acquired a trove of her negatives at an auction.
