The Center for the Study of Post-Communist Societies is a research center at the University of Maryland, College Park. It was founded in 1994 by Vladimir Tismăneanu and is directed by him. The center's mission is to promote research and public discussion on the history, politics, and culture of post-communist societies. It does so by sponsoring conferences, workshops, and publications, as well as by providing support for scholars and students.
