Vojislav Šešelj voluntarily surrendered to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague in 2006. He was charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the Bosnian War. He was found guilty of nine counts of crimes against humanity and war crimes, and sentenced to 40 years in prison. He is currently serving his sentence in the Netherlands.
