Wallace Fard Muhammad taught a form of Islam which was considered idiosyncratic by mainstream Muslim scholars. He believed that Allah had come to Earth in human form and that he himself was the Messenger of Allah. He also taught that the white race was evil and that the black race was the original people of God. Muhammad's teachings attracted many followers, and he eventually founded the Nation of Islam.
