The General Assembly is the legislative body of the Church of Scotland, the national church of Scotland. The Assembly is composed of ministers and elders from each of the 433 parishes of the Church, as well as commissioners elected from presbyteries and synods. The Assembly meets twice a year, in May and November, to debate and vote on legislation and policy.
