Wesley So is considered a former chess prodigy because he was able to achieve the Grandmaster title at a young age. He was born in 1993 and became a Grandmaster in 2009, when he was just 16 years old. So has since gone on to have a successful career in chess, winning a number of tournaments and representing the United States at the World Chess Olympiad.
