Wilfred Rhodes retired from first-class cricket in 1930 at the age of 55. He had played for Yorkshire for 35 years and was the club's leading wicket-taker with 3,167 wickets. He was also a very good batsman and scored over 17,000 runs in first-class cricket. Rhodes was a very talented cricketer and was one of the best all-rounders of his time.
