Heinrich Himmler, the head of the SS, revealed Canaris' acts of sabotage. Himmler had been suspicious of Canaris for a while, and he was finally able to gather enough evidence to prove that Canaris was working against the Nazi regime. Canaris was arrested and executed in 1944.
