Charles Alexander was the first college football coach to place his teams in four major post-season bowl games. He accomplished this feat with the Iowa State Cyclones, whom he coached from 1958 to 1966. Under Alexander's leadership, the Cyclones made four appearances in the Rose Bowl, the Sugar Bowl, the Orange Bowl, and the Cotton Bowl.
