What dinosaur did Buckland write the first full account of?

  • Tyrannosaurus Rex

  • Brontosaurus

  • Megalosaurus

  • Triceratops

Answer

In 1824, William Buckland published the first full account of a dinosaur, Megalosaurus, based on a large thigh bone found in the Stonesfield Slate. The discovery of Megalosaurus and other dinosaur fossils in the 1820s and 1830s was one of the first pieces of evidence that the earth was much older than had been previously thought.
